Day 3-Look down! Did you bring the right shoes?

And just like that, it's already Day 3!

5/5-F & G (Happy Cinco de Mayo!)

Things are really going to get going today!

Hopefully I will be chatting with you soon during the interview! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go review Day 1 and Day 2 updates!
  • Today you start doing daily logs and Team leads also start doing daily posts! (Check out the tabs for each thing with instructions on what to do). Blog Gurus please create tabs for each person on your team using the guidelines on the daily logs directions page. Plan on doing this during the last 10-15 minutes of each class period
  • After your interview, you should delegate tasks for actually building the ROV. There are 3 tasks you can break the building process into: Control Box, Propulsion/Motors, Frame
    • Notes on each one:
      • Control Box: 1 person should do this. It requires a steady hand and careful attention to detail. Someone with patience also helps! Lots of soldering here!
      • Propulsion/Motors: 1-2 people should collaborate since you have to build/connect 3 motors. Some soldering involved.
      • Frame: Everyone should give suggestions/opinion/design ideas but one person can easily handle the drawing, cutting, drilling, and building of the PVC frame. This person will eventually work closely with the Motor folks since the motors attach to the frame. Power tools involved here
    • EACH TASK HAS A TAB WITH STEP BY STEP DIRECTIONS ON WHAT TO DO NEXT.
  • Take some time to come outside and try out some of last year's ROV's! You will get a sense of what it feels like to steer and also get a chance to see some preliminary frame designs
  • Equipment manager: You are in charge of all of your groups ROV stuff. Keep it together, keep it neat. It is YOUR job to make sure all of your team's stuff gets put away correctly each day. You will also be in charge of helping set up and/or put away tools when Mrs. S calls for clean up.
  • Photographer: Take pictures of your teams's progress and share them! Team members should be able to use your pictures in their daily logs and the Team Lead may request specific things from you. Be ready!
  • If you were absent for Day 2, you need to make up that time. Please look at the "What to do if you were absent tab"
