What is an ROV Guidelines

This page is supposed to help someone who doesn't know what an ROV is get a better idea of what you are going to be building. This is also a chance for you to learn a bit about real ROV's. This will help you as you design solutions to your challenges!

  • What is an ROV? 
    • What does it stand for? 
    • How is it different from an AUV or submersible?
  • What major parts are there to an ROV?
  • How do they move?
    • Vertically? Horizontally?
  • How do they "sense" the world? Include examples
  • How do we communicate with the ROV while it is underwater?
  • What are 2 examples of ROV’s?
    • Who made it?
    • What is it used for?

Grading Criteria:

  • 5 Points Possible

  • Paragraph form (1-2 paragraphs per section)
  • In you own words
  • IMAGES (make sure you give them credit)
  • Hyperlinks of sources at the end of page
  • Is the page cohesive as a whole?
  • Does it all flow together? 
  • Does it look like each person just did their part and didn't collaborate?
